Kitchen Confidential

April 11, 2010

Sunday nights are bitter-sweet. A relaxing wind down from the weekend, but so close to Monday morning and the work week ahead.

The perfect eve to grocery shop and cook a delicious meal from the overstuffed fridge. There’s even a glass of white wine left from yesterday to enjoy while watching my favourite tv show: Anthony Bourdain, No Reservations. Sunday nights at 8pm I tune in to the Discovery Channel for a recipe of equal parts food and travel.

Without fail, every week I cry inside & out and long to travel, discover and enjoy every corner of the world. Although I’m partial to Europe, even profiles of the USA can romance me with its culture. In each region Anthony is guided by locals and eats from the best of the best: retaurants, chefs, farms, home cooked meals, dives and even our very own Japa Dog street meat in Vanouver.

My dream episode will be Hungary.

Must start eating more Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches and saving for my next trip. OR, just stop going grocery shopping when I’m hungry….

‘Shit, I’m running late.

I gotta go! I gotta hit the road.

I’m so hungry. I’ll get a sandwich from Urban Fare on the way. “To go please”!

Alright; Olive, sammie, sunnies…and back on the road.

DAMN. This sandwich looks good! I gotta pull over and take a photo’.

Ingredients: Roast Beef, Cheddar Cheese, Grainy Dijon (by request), grilled on a baguette (there’s always time to get your sandwich grilled).
