When I took this photo of the menu I thought it was gross, but if I had one in front of me right now I would eat it.

Oh man, this sandwich was so long ago but sooo good. If I remember correctly it was grilled cheese, made on cheese bread.

Ingredients: Grilled cheese on cheese bread. Possibly a seasoned outside?

…not like LBS…like sterling!!!

Chef Martin Blunos created a £111.95 cheese sandwich! Its a 1/2 kg double decker filled with white truffle, 100 yr old balsamic vinegar, quail’s egg and sprinkled with edible gold dust. I’M INTO IT!

Ingredients: Layered Cheese, Quail’s Egg, Black Tomato (!!), Epicure Apple (??), Fresh Figs, Mustard Red Frills, Pea Shoots, Red Amaranth (?), Olive Oil, Balsamic and Gold Dust (!!?) on sourdough.

Grilled Fromage, Squamish

I finally went to Grilled Fromage in Squamish and it was great! There is something like 60 grilled cheese sandwiches to choose from…crazy! I definitely didn’t take enough time to decide…instead I just got ‘what he’s having’ and added apple to satisfy a craving.

Check out the menu . I had the Woah Nellie + apple, cup of tomato soup, and a can of beer. They have beers, Super Nintendo and great decor.

Sorrrrrrryyyyyyyyyy, along with neglecting this blog, I also neglected to take a photo of this sandwich until it was practically too late. But check it out, they serve your sandwich with cheesies, frozen blueberries and a gummy worm!

Ingredients: Roast Beef, Swiss Cheese, Horseradish and Apple on sourdough.

Ingredients: Subway Cold Cut Trio, Southwest Sauce, Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Green Peppers, Pickles, Cucumbers, Banana Peppers and S&P on toasted whole wheat 12″. Load it up!

Ingredients: Thrifty’s Ham & Cheese sam…with lettuce, mayo, mustard on brown i think.

Just when you think a weekend of camping at Mussel Beach couldn’t get any better, we stopped for lunch at one of the oldest neighbourhood pubs in BC on the way to the ferry home…The Crow & Gate, est. 1972.

It’s literally like someone’s home. There’s a walk up bar where you order all your food and drinks, no table service! They serve scotch eggs, which I’ve never seen anywhere before. There is a beautifully manicured garden, which lends to a grass-floor patio. And my fave is the crow drinking a beer on the sign (above).

For lunch, I opted for the Beef Dip and a mandatory scotch egg on the side.

Drove around for 15 minutes this morning with no destination…and no music on. I was a hungover zombie in need of somethin’ filling to eat. Rolled up to La Grotta and went veggie for the first time. It was just right for a 10am sandwich.

Ingredients: Swiss Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Roasted Eggplant and Red Peppers, Banana Peppers, Olive Oil & Balsamic Vinegar, Dijon Mustard and Basil Mayo, toasted on whole wheat foccacia.

A cracked taco shell required a new taco construction approach. Inevitably a sandwich technique was used and ended up being way better! Much more balanced distribution of ingredients.

Ingredients: Taco Veggie Ground Round, Cheddar Cheese, Homemade Guacamole, Mixed Greens on a perfectly toasted blue corn taco shell…cracked.
